Responsibilities

 

JOB SUMMARY

  • Assist in the development of new and innovative procurement strategies.
  • Cultivation of relationships with current and potential suppliers.
  • Assist in the procurement of goods for new construction
  • Identify good buying opportunities based on knowledge of market fluctuations and seasonal demand
  • Research and identify potential new suppliers.
  • Ensure timeliness of shipments and arrange for distribution to multiple sites as needed.
  • Coordinates and insures integrity of data in procurement system
  • General administrative support for the purchasing department.
  • Special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or other related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a purchasing function
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and effective communication skills.
  • Proficient PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Data Entry and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of MRP or ERP systems preferred
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills, detail orientation and multi-tasking.

     

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

Physical effort generally involves bending and reaching for files, walking between building sites and occasional travel to all locations.
