Responsibilities

NOTE - This is a full time CONTRACT ASSIGNMENT, with CHC, not eligible (at this time), for benefits.  

 

We are looking for an experienced Lead Software/Application Architect to make intuitive high level decisions for the re-development of our In-House Application “NOVO” as COTS product.  You will see the “big picture” and create architectural approaches for software design, development and implementation to guide the software development team.

You will be responsible for designing, building and delivering an innovative new NOVO product to market that is based on an existing .Net develop application.  What you build will be used by millions around the country. You will own the product, software and development and its architecture. Your focus on lean software practices and delivering quality products will be critical in the success of our mission of transformation.  You will be making a real difference in making healthcare more efficient, safer and more effective.

Key Role

  • Lead the re-architecture of our existing NOVO application into a product that can be sold in the healthcare market.
  • Development the framework and roadmap to transform the NOVO application that is robust and can integrate with disparate systems and applications
  • Adopt a lean start-up approach to building and testing a minimum viable product.  Implement an early feedback loop to enable continuous learning and iteration for ventures, products and services. 
  • Collaborate with other professionals to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new NOVO software or applications development
  • Develop high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility
  • Define all aspects of development from appropriate technology and workflow to coding standards
  • Oversee progress of development teams to ensure consistency with initial design
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers
  • Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility etc.

 Keys to Success / Required Qualifications 

  • Strong technical foundation; including an undergraduate degree in Computer (i.e. Bachelors) in Science or a related field, ideally combined with an advanced technical degree
  • 10+ years' experience in designing, implementing and delivering large complex systems and applications
  • An outstanding individual who will bring the depth of functional and business experience, along with the personal qualities well suited for the challenge
  • Proficiency in multiple enterprise technologies, architectural styles, and techniques
  • Ability to quickly acquire skills
  • Ability to work in a startup-like, fast-paced environment

 Additional experience needed for this role: 

  • Proven experience as software and application architect Technical expertise in heterogeneous environments is required
  • Experience in developing solutions incorporating bespoke development, packaged vendor applications and cloud based software-as-a-service offerings is strongly preferred
  • Is aware of the latest trends in application architectures and application development, including new features with the latest release of Java, .NET functional programming, micro-services, scale out architectures, different approaches to database technologies, including NoSQL etc.
  • Previous experience in creating strategy and roadmaps for asset management systems and translating them into action plans is a plus
  • Passionate about technology and its application to solve intricate problems in asset management
  • Experience in the application of diverse technologies including cloud, mobile, web, transaction processing, stream applications, distributed caches, functional programming, and reactive applications
  • Experience working on three tier application architectures, and on technologies such as Oracle (including RAC), Java, Spring, myBatis, jQuery, JavaScript, Angular; Exposure to Scala and Akka are added plus
  • Is aware of the latest trends in application architectures and application development, including new features with the latest release of Java, functional programming, micro-services, scale out architectures, different approaches to database technologies, including NoSQL etc
  • Experience with agile, lean practices and methodologies
  • Experience if C#, .NET
  • Experience with XML, API, Schemas such as SOAP and Rest
  • Extensive experience in the healthcare with HL-7 and Healthcare standards and integration methodologies used in the industry
  • Experience with SaaS and Multi-Tenant development
  • Collaborate with other professionals to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applications
  • Use tools and methodologies to create representations for functions and user interface of desired product
  • Develop high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility
  • Define all aspects of development from appropriate technology and workflow to coding standards
  • Communicate successfully all concepts and guidelines to development team
  • Oversee progress of development team to ensure consistency with initial design
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers
  • Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility etc.
  • Approve final product before launch
