Responsibilities

 

Coordinates and performs all aspects of billing Medical, Dental, and Behavioral Health claims.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Bills all visit types daily, transferring charges from eCW to Centricity. Knows required set ups for each insurance type based on component type.
  • Assists with patient phone calls as needed
  • Performs necessary rebilling or adjusting on accounts
  • Cross trains within department to provide coverage when necessary
  • Organizes work load to achieve a high level of productivity
  • Notifies Manager of information that negatively impacts production
  • Assist with special projects as needed

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates Degree (required)
    • internal candidates: work experience can be substituted for associate's degree.
  • In-depth knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, CDT-3 and HCPCS coding; insurance billing rules including but not limited to Medicare and Medicaid, Anthem, Aetna, and self-pay
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and electronic e-mail systems
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication and telephone skills.
