    Responsibilities

    Job Summary

     

    The Research Assistant I is assigned to carry out specific research related to a specific project. The position will be responsible for a range of tasks, depending on the nature of the project, including recruiting participants, arranging focus groups, administering surveys, tallying results, tracking grant progress, data collection, literature reviews, obtaining informed consent, IRB applications and updates, basic data analysis, coordination and other tasks as assigned.

    Role and Responsibilites

    • Works under general supervision of Director of Research and Evaluation
    • Collects data
    • Performs basic data analysis
    • Interviews potential research subjects
    • Writes technical reports detailing procedures, outcomes, and observations.
    • Obtains informed consent
    • Administers surveys
    • Utilizes established mathematical and scientific techniques to compile and analyze data
    • Organizes team meetings and focus groups
    • Performs library/online research/pubmed searches
    • Assists with grant report writing and organization of grant submissions
    • Completes electronic health record chart audits/data collection
    • Develops Power Point presentations
    • Assists in developing grant reports
    • Manages databases to ensure integrity of data and compliance with research protocols
    • Programs and runs Microsoft Access reports

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Required Skills and Education
    • Associates degree required, bachelor preferred
    • Associate degree in a related field with a minimum of two years of experience working in public or community health program coordination
    • Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office and related internet applications

    o   Excellent oral and written skills

    • Interest in research Interest in working with underserved population, public or community health
    • Able to demonstrate understanding of standard concepts, practices and procedures related to public health research
    • Familiar with program coordinator of meetings, activities and reports
    • Ability to work in inter-professional teams and prioritize work assignments
    • Ability to maintain positive relationships within the team and external partners
    • Ability to have attention to detail and good communication skills
    • Ability to follow procedures and protocols consistently
    • Bilingual: Spanish and English

     

    • Required Licenses/Certifications
    • Human Subjects Training Certificate is preferred

    o   Drivers license is preferred

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

     

    • Must be able to independently travel to CHC Inc satellites or events throughout the region independently.
    • Must be able to work in teams with good collaboration skills to work with research, program coordinators, and senior staff
    • Must be able to communicate verbally
    • Must be able to fit for extended periods while working at a computer

    WORK SCHEDULE DEMANDS

    • Flexible work schedule based off of operational needs, evenings and weekends as needed.
    • Travel is required
